The presence of extensive invasive alien plant species within the site boundary and construction footprint required careful management before and during construction. MKO supported the appointment of a specialist treatment contractor and prepared an Invasive Species Management Plan, setting out the biosecurity measures required to reduce the risk of spreading invasive species during the works. Our team also supported the project in meeting its environmental compliance requirements, including the implementation of water quality monitoring during construction. Through the ongoing Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) role, MKO delivers toolbox talks, supervises relevant site activities, monitors environmental mitigation measures and completes monthly audits. Water samples are collected for laboratory analysis, with the findings documented in monthly environmental reports.
