Our Planning team advises commercial and institutional clients on complex projects across a range of sectors. We prepare assessments to support planning applications, including retail impact, transport, heritage and townscape assessments, and assist with the discharge of planning conditions. Planning applications

Our Planning team manages applications from pre-application advice through preparation, submission and determination. We respond to requests for additional information and support negotiations on planning obligations and conditions, including Section 106 agreements and Section 76 agreements in Northern Ireland. For major infrastructure projects we support Development Consent Order applications for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects through the Planning Inspectorate under the Planning Act 2008.

Planning appeals

We prepare planning appeals and responses for applicants and other parties. Our work includes case strategy, written submissions and the coordination of technical and expert evidence.

Development plan submissions

We prepare representations on Local Plans and Local Development Plans. Our submissions draw on planning policy, evidence and relevant precedents to promote sites, respond to proposed allocations and make a clear case for policy changes.

Planning strategies/masterplans

Our Planning team prepares practical planning strategies and masterplans that balance community needs with commercial requirements. Our approach is informed by the relevant Local Plan, National Planning Policy Framework and supplementary planning documents. We consider the relevant Local Development Plan and Strategic Planning Policy Statement. We coordinate housing, recreation, transport and energy requirements to create coherent, deliverable proposals.

Site appraisals and
feasibility studies

Our site appraisals and feasibility studies assess the planning policies and development standards relevant to a site. We identify what the site may be able to accommodate and the principal planning matters that should be addressed in a future application.

Planning expert witness

Our senior planners provide expert evidence at planning hearings, inquiries, legal proceedings and compulsory purchase proceedings.

Planning impact assessments

We prepare assessments to support planning applications, including retail impact, transport, heritage and townscape assessments. Each assessment is prepared in response to the relevant policy requirements and the specific needs of the proposal.

Condition compliance

Our Planning team supports the discharge of planning conditions following a grant of planning permission. We establish a clear compliance strategy, prepare the required submissions and coordinate technical inputs from the wider project team.

Our in-house CAD team prepares planning application drawings, including site layouts, elevations and sections.
